The Masters Tournament
PGA Tour · Major
The most tightly controlled ticket in golf and the most gracious week to attend. Practice rounds, the Par 3 Contest, and four competitive days on a course that looks nothing like television suggests — the elevation change alone is worth the trip.
History
Founded in 1934 by Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts on the grounds of a former plantation nursery. The green jacket arrived in 1949, and the tournament has never left Augusta National, making it the only major with a permanent home.
Location
Augusta National Golf Club — Augusta, Georgia
Times
Second week of April. Gates 8:00 a.m. ET; honorary starters 7:40 a.m. Thursday; final pairing off around 1:50 p.m. Sunday.
